How often is KOMMUNAL published? +
Ten times a year, including two double issues and a special issue for the Kommunalmesse trade fair and the Austrian Municipal Day. The audited print run (ÖAK) is 30,882 copies (second half of 2025). All publication dates and editorial themes for the year are in the downloadable media kit.
When is the advertising deadline? +
About four weeks before the publication date, with the artwork deadline a few days later. Example, issue 11/2026: booking deadline 27 October, artwork 30 October, published 13 November. The full schedule is in the media kit.
Which ad formats are available and what do they cost? +
From a quarter-page corner to a full double-page spread. 2026 list prices: full page € 8,980, half page (portrait or landscape) € 4,950, one-third landscape € 3,650, quarter page € 2,900, double-page spread € 15,950. Inside front and inside back cover cost € 9,900, the back cover € 10,350.
What is an advertorial and what does it cost? +
An advertising feature in KOMMUNAL's editorial style – either produced by our editorial and design team to your brief, or based on your own copy and images. 2026 list prices: full page with up to 2,600 characters including spaces € 9,650, half page with up to 1,600 characters € 5,400, one-third page with up to 800 characters € 4,020. Advertorials are labelled as such and follow the magazine layout.
Which online ad formats does kommunal.at offer? +
Billboard (1260 × 315 px) € 1,540, sticky skyscraper (160 × 640 px) € 1,360, supersize content (960 × 120 px) € 1,130, sticky halfpage (300 × 600 px) € 1,090 and medium rectangle (300 × 300 px) € 880. Each runs for four weeks, run of site. There is also the online advertorial with four weeks of fixed placement on the homepage for € 3,090; it stays available indefinitely afterwards.
How does newsletter advertising work? +
The newsletter goes out every Thursday. Header ad (600 × 200 px) € 1,690 per send, center ad € 1,470; as a “3+1 free” package € 5,070 and € 4,410 respectively for four consecutive issues. An event announcement costs € 2,550. The exclusive newsletter with up to 3,000 characters, image, call to action and a date of your choice costs € 6,190 and appears only six times a year.
Can I include an insert with the magazine? +
Yes, loosely inserted at an unspecified position, maximum 205 × 270 mm. Price per 1,000 copies: € 470 up to 20 grams, € 710 up to 30 grams, € 910 up to 40 grams, € 1,140 up to 50 grams. Heavier inserts on request. Insert prices follow the current postal tariffs and are therefore subject to change.
